ANIMATIC AND PLOT

Our story is about Bramble Cay Melomys - first mammals to go extinct due to human related climate change. They lived on an island in Great Barrier Reef and went extinct in 2014, which was quite surprising for me and our team. We created quite a tragic story to point out the importance of the topic, which we thought also relates to a wide range of audience. The story focuses on mother and child, last one of their species, trying to survive on slowly dying island, as the floods destroyed most of their food. In our animatic, the flood that erases the island happens and we witness them trying to survive. At the end of the animation, to not make it too dark, we added another pair of mom and child - red pandas. We also did it to raise concern of not yet extinct species, however, still endangered.
